Sunset Point Rest Area on I-17 closes: Where to stop instead


Sunset Point Rest Area on Interstate 17 will close for repairs starting July 11.

Motorists heading north of Phoenix will have a person less restroom prevent in their travels this 12 months.

Starting July 11, the Arizona Department of Transportation will near the active Sunset Point Relaxation Space at mile marker 252 on Interstate 17 for various months for a renovation task.

Whilst the relaxation region is closed to the general community, drivers will will need to cease at other exits to relaxation, use the toilet or buy treats for the highway.

Commercial truck motorists can continue to use the relaxation space even though it is really closed, but amenities will be restricted.

Why is Sunset Level rest area closing?

ADOT staff will start off operate on a $7.5 million job to reconstruct Sunset Point’s drinking water and septic techniques, restrooms and vending regions.
