Produce your possess “On Island Time” indicator merely with scrapbook paper and quickly transferred lettering with paint!
Hey pals!
I hope you are owning a excellent week. We have been touring and checking out spouse and children (and friends) in the excellent condition of South Carolina. (some in the Charleston location and some in the upstate)
If you comply with alongside in excess of on Instagram, you may have seen a little of the excursion. Fun, enjoyment!
On Island Time Indicator
Now I’m back again sharing this sweet very little sign…
Considering that it’s previously a indicator and has a great hanging wire on the back, I figured I’d maintain it a sign.
Very well, type of.
You can hang it or sit it on a shelf, either way.
Here is what it appears to be like now…
Just a tiny different, huh? lol
Properly, guess what? Yep…I pulled out a different sheet of that very long-shed scrapbook paper I had stashed away and made use of it.
You can see previously mentioned that I produced a crease by urgent along the edges of the board for chopping.
See underneath?
Then I utilized a slim layer of my Decoupage Gel …
…and hooked up the scrapbook paper.
As soon as it was dry, I took a piece of sandpaper and rubbed the edges to get a great clean line like you see under.
I appreciate that tiny trick! Is effective so well. (on material decoupage too)
Then I printed (in reverse) out the phrases “on island time…” and arranged them on the indication where I required them.
I rubbed above them with the pencil to transfer the ink from the inkjet.

You can see how effectively this operates beneath.
Then all you have to do is use a smaller artist’s brush to paint in excess of the lettering. (anything like this brush will work quite well)
I utilised white paint for the letters.
I went back again about parts that were also slender and then made the decision to add shadowing.
I like to print out the text with a “shadow” and it shows you in all places you will need to insert it.
Does not that just make the letters pop??
And lastly, I scorching glued a child starfish to the entrance to end it up.
Best for that seaside-themed dwelling or cottage by the sea. 🙂
Yet another rather straightforward one! Loving all the decoupage I have been executing these days.
It’s been so considerably entertaining to renovate these aged, fatigued pieces!
PIN it to conserve it!
I’ll be back again next week with this one! (I Adore how this just one turned out and cannot wait to share it with you)
Have a excellent weekend!!
xoxo
