American hero returns home to be laid to rest


BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – The continues to be of a U.S. Marine killed all through a NATO military services schooling exercise returned house Friday afternoon.

U.S. Marine Cpl. Jacob Moore’s family members stood on the tarmac as the aircraft carrying their loved one’s overall body landed at Tri-State Airport.

Moore, 24, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, was among the four marines whose stays were being returned to U.S. soil final Friday following their deaths in a helicopter crash in Norway on March 18.

Moore’s stays are becoming taken to Neal Funeral Property on Centre Avenue.

A proclamation to declare Friday as “Jacob M. Moore Day” was presented by Catlettsburg Mayor Faith Day to the loved ones.

Visitation products and services will be from midday to 6 p.m. Sunday at Boyd County Superior College, Moore’s alma mater.

The funeral is established for 11 a.m. Monday at the faculty, with the burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast.

Gov. Andy Beshear has requested flags at all condition properties to be decreased to fifty percent-workers from sunrise to sunset Monday, April 4, in honor of Moore.

Gov. Beshear encourages all individuals, firms, businesses and governing administration companies to be a part of in this tribute.

Corporal Moore’s decorations incorporate the Fantastic Carry out Medal, the Nationwide Defense Provider Medal, and the World War on Terrorism Medal.
